Time to end payment of Ministerial pensions to sitting TD’s

It is time to return to modesty and good example from our national politicians according to Kilkenny Labour Party councillor, Seán Ó hArgáin, who also called for an end to the practice of paying Ministerial pensions to Dáil deputies who continue to hold seats in Dáil Éireann. Cllr. Ó hArgáin was speaking at the A.G.M of the Graiguenamanagh Labour Party, which was also attended by Labour Party Ireland East candidate Nessa Childers.

St. Patrick's Day Grand Marshall

The decision of the organising committee of Kilkenny’s St. Patrick’s day Parade to chose radio personality Johnny Barry as Grand Marshall of the 2009 parade is the perfect choice according to committee chairperson, Cllr. Seán Ó hArgáin. He urged the local community in the county and city to get behind the parade and to enter into the spirit of St. Patrick’s day, despite the economic doom and gloom.
